Harry Winks started for Tottenham Hotspur as they beat Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Graeme Souness brutally compared Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks with ex-Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker when reacting to the players high passing percentage.
During his punditry stint with Sky Sports, Souness was shown a graphic which detailed that Winks has a passing accuracy of 91%, but the Scot felt that the Spurs man is simply ‘neat and tidy’ and needs to do more further up the field.
Winks played in the middle of the park for Tottenham as they picked up a valuable 3-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
But prior to the game, when Souness was analysing the 23-year-old’s game, he made it clear that he would like to see more from the youngster.
“He’s neat and tidy,” Souness told Sky Sports PL on 10/02/2019. “I’m trying to find nice words to say about him as a young boy. I was a young midfielder at 24, I would have wanted to do more than he does.
“The stat we put up 91% most accurate passer in his team. A few years ago Mertesacker was the most accurate passer in the Premier League. Passing it five yards that way and ten yards this way. I think he [Winks] recycles the ball really well.
“I want more. I want him to do it further up the pitch and I want him hurting teams.”

For the majority of the team, Winks has occupied a role in front of the defence by ensuring he keeps the game ticking, brings the ball out of tight areas and regains possession.
His performances for Spurs have also seen him recognised on the international front with Gareth Southgate making him part of the England set-up.
Nonetheless, over the course of this season, the London-born player has played 34 games in all competitions, scoring one goal, but he is yet to supply an assist.
There is no doubt that Winks will want to add goals and assists to his game. During Spurs’ late win at Fulham in January, late in the second half, he was pushed further forward and it resulted in him scoring a stoppage-time winner for his side.
