Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish has told the The Football Show that opposition players have come up to him and raved about John McGinn.

McGinn has missed a sizeable chunk of Villa’s season with injury, which has seriously impact on Dean Smith’s side.

The Scottish midfielder was one of their key players, alongside Grealish and Tyrone Mings, over the early part of the campaign.

However, in his absence, Villa have slid down the table and now occupy 19th spot.

Thankfully for the claret and blues, McGinn will be able to play in their first game back after the Premier League restart.

And Grealish feels that Villa will be a much improved side for having the former Hibernian man in their side.

“I think he was one of the top players in the whole league before he got injured,” Grealish said.

“I even spoke to players from other clubs and they were saying they couldn’t believe how good he was.”

Villa’s run-in looks among the toughest of any of the relegation threatened sides.

Smith’s men have a host of teams left to play who are up near the top of the table.

Villa will get back to action with a match against Sheffield United in two weeks’ time.
