Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has signed a new five-year contract with his boyhood club, where he has played since the age of eight.
The 25-year-old was finally handed his England debut against Denmark earlier this month, and his September has now become even better.
Grealish was arguably the driving force behind Villa’s survival last term.
He netted eight goals and assisted six more, helping the Villans avoid the drop on the final day with a goal in the 1-1 draw against West Ham.
One man who knows exactly what it’s like to wear the armband at Villa Park is Gabby Agbonlahor.
The former England international, who made 391 appearances for the Midlands-based outfit, took to Twitter shortly after the news broke.
Agbonlahor kept things short and sweet and wrote just a two-word response: “Yeah man!!!”
