The Times reported on Monday that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made England international Declan Rice their top transfer priority in the summer.
In an interview with Athletic Club Memento back in November last year, now-Arsenal target Rice received backing from England teammate Jack Grealish, who explained why he is so special.
The Athletic have also claimed that Arsenal are plotting a move for Declan Rice, who earned rave reviews from none other than Jack Grealish.
It has even been suggested that the Gunners could break their own transfer record by forking out a whopping £80 million fee to sign the West Ham captain.
Some may wonder why the Premier League leaders are willing to go to such extreme lengths to sign the Englishman, when they already have Thomas Partey are their disposal.
Alongside Rodri and Casemiro, Partey is widely classed as one of the 3 best defensive midfielders in the division.
However, the Ghanaian international is extremely injury prone and impossible to replace for Mikel Arteta currently.
As a result, Declan Rice to Arsenal makes complete sense, as Jack Grealish will have you know in some senses.
The Manchester City superstar broke down what makes the 24-year-old such a special player.
Jack Grealish explained why Arsenal target Declan Rice is such a top player

In an interview with Athletic Club Memento back in November, Jack Grealish explained what makes Arsenal target Declan Rice such an incredible player.
“Dec [Declan Rice], I’ve played with him and against him for years now.”
“But when I played with him…the way he reads the game for someone so young; it’s like he’s been around forever.”
“To go past him is so difficult, honestly. And I don’t say that about a lot of people. I’d back myself against anyone. I’d back myself against him too, obviously.”
“But whether it’s in training or a game, the way he uses his body…he’s so smart, so big and strong. He’s so, so good.”
The fact that Jack Grealish is such a huge admirer of Declan Rice speaks volumes of the kind of player Arsenal could potentially sign.
