The bad news for Arsenal fans is that it looks like Mikel Arteta is staying at the Emirates Stadium.
The good news is that according to The Sun, Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke could sign up to three ‘big players’ for the North London club this summer.
Arteta is coming under major pressure to keep his job following the Gunners’ elimination from the Europa League in midweek.
Even worse, it was Unai Emery, sacked by Arsenal in 2019, who orchestrated his former club’s downfall.
And if Arteta can’t better the coach who this club’s hierarchy fired less than two years ago, it really isn’t a good reflection on the 39-year-old Spaniard.
That being said, three ‘big players’ may just go a long way.
And here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to his latest transfer news:
Is two or three big players enough? Nope.
Arsenal are 10th in the Premier League table and there’s a lot of work for Arteta and Edu to do before they’re even in the conversation for a top-four finish.
Arteta’s first full season has been a major write-off and the North Londoners are set for their worst campaign in some 26 years.
But the only way is up for the Spanaird and his players and with a little help from his owner, which it seems like he’ll get, Arsenal could get much better next term.
