Mile Jedinak is the latest addition at Aston Villa.
Crystal Palace’s Mile Jedinak at the end
Aston Villa announced last night they have completed the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak, with the BBC reporting the fee as undisclosed.
Jedinak’s tough tackling and clever reading of the game made him a big asset for the Eagles, and he could be a vital player for Villa as they bid to bounce straight back to the Premier League.
The Australian has been made to feel immediately welcome by two of Villa’s key men, with Jack Grealish and Rudy Gestede sending him messages via Twitter.
Jedinak will hope to go straight into the Villa side this weekend away to Derby County, and Grealish in particular should benefit from playing alongside him.
The side have four points from a possible nine after three games, and setting aside their EFL Cup defeat to Luton, they have rallied in recent games and bearing in mind new owner Tony Xia is still working on improving the squad, they are not set too badly.
The result against Derby will influence how the start to the season is viewed, and a win away to a potential promotion rival would be a huge boost to all at Villa Park.
