The Villans ace is recovering from injury but his latest tweet has prompted some fans to hope he’ll be back on the pitch this weekend.

Jack Grealish of Aston Villa during the Sky Bet Championship match between West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa at The Hawthorns on December 7, 2018 in West Bromwich, England.

As far as Aston Villa fan favourites go, Jack Grealish is right up there with the best of them, a local lad who came through the ranks at the club and has developed into an indispendable player amid reported past interest from other clubs.

At present, the 23-year-old is recovering from a shin injury and hasn’t played since Villa’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion on December 7, after which Dean Smith’s side went through a poor run of form with one win from eight prior to the 2-1 triumph over Ipswich Town last time out.

The last concrete update on Grealish came from Smith last week, in which he said the player was to resume light training this week, while on January 26, the club’s Twitter account posted a video of him on an exercise bike “getting stronger every day”.

On Wednesday, Grealish shared an image on his own Twitter account of himself with Tammy Abraham and John McGinn, with emojis of a shooting star and a heart:

Some Villa fans reacted to the post on Twitter by praising either Grealish himself or the trio as a whole, while others speculated about a possible imminent return from injury and the three being reunited on the pitch:
