Leeds face Birmingham on Saturday in the Championship.

Former Leeds United player and manager Eddie Gray has suggested to LUTV that Kemar Roofe should start against Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites go up against the Blues at St. Andrews’ Stadium as Thomas Christiansen looks to maintain his side’s momentum which has seen them pick up 16 points from a possible 18 and sit in fifth place.
Roofe, 24, scored his 10th goal of the season on Boxing Day with a calm finish past Burton Albion goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, after Pablo Hernandez had cancelled out Tom Naylor’s opener for the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium.

The question remains, though, who should start as Leeds’ attacking spearhead with Pierre-Michel Lasogga returning as a substitute against Nigel Clough’s side. Gray believes playing away from home on Saturday will suit Roofe.
“Roofe took his goal well,” Gray said. “That’s four goals in two away games for him, that’s a good record for any striker. He took it very calmly, it was a good finish for a centre-forward.
“It was nice to see Lasogga coming on, but I can’t see Thomas [Christiansen] making many changes to play against Birmingham. Away from home, I think it suits Kemar Roofe better, with space in behind. He did it in the first half [against Burton].”

Roofe, who joined Leeds in the summer of 2016 for £3million from Oxford United, has also added three assists this term to his 10 goals with the Whites lacking an in-form, physical presence up top.
Lasogga has hardly wowed fans at Elland Road since joining on loan from Hamburg, while Caleb Ekuban has suffered another long-term foot injury.
Leeds will be desperate to continue their impressive run of five wins and a draw in their last six, with a counter-attacking style likely to be adopted by Christiansen and Roofe’s speed and running in behind would certainly suit that.
