Sunderland boss Jack Ross has been said to be interested in the Middlesbrough midfielder.

Leadbitter has been linked with a return to the Stadium of Light in recent times, as the Gazette reported.
But when asked about where he sees his future, Leadbitter didn’t suggest that a return to Sunderland was on his agenda.
“I see my future here,” he said. “I’m here until 2020, so I’ll keep doing what I do every single day. Let me tell you, that won’t change.”
Leadbitter has only played a rotational role for Middlesbrough so far this season, but he did start for Tony Pulis’ side in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Boro won 5-0 against Peterborough United at the Riverside Stadium to progress to the next round, with Leadbitter impressing.
Whether Tony Pulis will start selecting him more regularly now remains to be seen, but it seems that Sunderland won’t be getting their man this season regardless.
Sunderland are still keen to make additions in the January transfer window, with new signings expected sooner rather than later.
