Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has admitted the expectation of playing for the Gunners is higher than at his previous clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Basel.
Xhaka signed for the Gunners in a £30 million deal this summer and is confident that the side itself will get stronger as the season goes on after starting the campaign with a loss, a draw and then a win.

The Swiss international is quoted by Sky Sports, saying: “Everything happens on a higher plain than it did at Borussia Moenchengladbach or FC Basel.
“You become aware of the global perception of Arsenal when you’re on the tour of the USA. Everywhere we went there were huge crowds waiting, the size of the club is unmistakable.
“I knew before I arrived that the pressure at a club that challenges for the title grows quickly. The season is long; we’ll become stronger with every game.”
Arsenal fans will certainly hope that is the case as they will look to kick on after the international break. It is another season where there is a lot of trepidation surrounding the club, and the same kind of frustrations.

Arsene Wenger acted in the transfer market late in the day in order to sign Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi, while the deal for Xhaka was wrapped up prior to the European Championships.
Following the international break it becomes a very busy period for Arsenal as the Champions League group stage gets underway as does their participation in the League Cup, and they will hope to climb the Premier League table in the process.
