Granit Xhaka has had his say on the lengthy injury suffered by fellow Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, Brazilian outlet sportv have claimed that the former Manchester City striker could be sidelined for 3 months.
The versatile forward sustained the injury during Brazil’s 1-0 loss to Cameroon during their final game of the World Cup group stage.
It was positive to discover that the 25-year-old had undergone a successful surgery, as per the club’s update via Twitter.
In addition, the player himself was optimistic about returning to full fitness eventually, promising to return stronger than ever via his Instagram story.
However, Jesus’ absence certainly puts a dent in the club’s Premier League title ambitions, with his addition having been keen to them topping the table.
Xhaka admits Jesus injury is a blow

Speaking after Switzerland’s elimination from the World Cup, Granit Xhaka discussed Arsenal ace Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
“I spoke with him straight after the Cameroon game. We have the contact with each other, with all the players we have here in the World Cup”, he told the Evening Standard.
The in-form midfielder continued, “It’s a shame because you saw in the first round of Premier League how important he was for us. I don’t know how big the injury is, maybe 2 or 3 months.”
“But he is a strong guy. It’s a small injury for him, I think and we will support him. He knows we are behind him and hopefully, we can get him back as quick as possible.”
Arsenal could surrender lead in title race to City after Jesus’ injury
Currently, Mikel Arteta’s side have a 5-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side.
However, the absence of a player as key as the Brazilian striker, who does so much more than just score goals could dismantle their progress during the second half of the season.
While Eddie Nketiah is a class act, the question remains whether he can both score goals and offer as much as Jesus does as an all-round threat?
Only time will tell, as Granit Xhaka is well-placed in admitting that the loss of Gabriel Jesus through injury is a blow for Arsenal.
