City took the lead early on through Ilkay Gundagon, and they went on to add further goals through a brace from Raheem Sterling and a belting Kevin de Bruyne strike.
Although Tottenham did pull one back from Christian Eriksen it was too little too late, and Roberts was not at all pleased with what he saw.
Tottenham’s defeat to City’s seen them sink down to seventh in the Premier League table.
Spurs are next in action against Burnley at Turf Moor, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be under pressure to get back to winning ways.
