Graham Roberts has stated that he’s been told that Tottenham Hotspur have ‘a lot’ of money to spend during the summer transfer window.

The White Hart Lane legend made it clear that manager Mauricio Pochettino isn’t going anywhere and the Argentine has been ‘near enough guaranteed’ money to spend.

Pochetino helped Spurs secure a top-four finish during the recently concluded Premier League season and in order for the club to take that next step, they’ll need to bulk up their squad.

Former Tottenham man Roberts shared his thoughts on what lies ahead for the club in the summer as he backed Pochettino to be at the club for a ‘long time’.

“Last week, he said it’s the best club in the world, with the best stadium, best training facilities and been near enough guaranteed money to spend in the summer,” Roberts told Love Sport Radio.

“I’ve been told it’s a lot – a lot of money. The club is generating lots of money now. He’s not going anywhere, he loves playing the media. Poch isn’t going anywhere. I think the media keep digging it up and digging it up. If he wasn’t going to stay why would he sign a six-year contract, he’ll be here for a long time.”

Considering the limited budget Pochettino has had to work with, he has done a pretty remarkable job in recent times and it could get even better.

On Saturday, his team will take part in the biggest game of their careers when they lock horns with Liverpool in the Champions League final.

The biggest game in club football will take place in Spain’s capital of Madrid as Spurs aim to win their first Champions League trophy, whilst the Reds are looking for their sixth European crown.
