Tottenham Hotspur are expected to move home within two years.
Graham Roberts has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur might well have the best stadium in England in the coming years.
Construction on Spurs’ new 61,000-seater home, which is located on the same road as White Hart Lane, is expected to be finished in time for the 2018-19 season.
The venture, titled the Northumberland Development Project, will see Tottenham’s new arena boast a retractable pitch, to facilitate NFL games, and a a 17,000-seater single tier stand.
Roberts, who spent six years at the Lilywhites until 1986, claims to have seen plans for the new stadium, claiming it will be “extemely special”.
Spurs fans will be delighted with the fact that their new stadium is expected to be marginally bigger than Arsenal’s, with the Emirates’ capacity 60,432.
It should mean that Tottenham boast the second biggest club football stadium in England, behind Old Trafford – 75, 731.
Tottenham will play their home games in the Champions League at Wembley for the time being, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side host Monaco there tomorrow.
