Tottenham Hotspur finally have a new manager having appointed Nuno Espirito Santo on Wednesday night.
Spurs parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April, and a truly bizarre managerial search, full of twists, turns and snubs, took more than two months to reach its conclusion.
Tottenham finally have it done though now, and the attention quickly turns to discussing whether Nuno is the right man.
Nuno’s path to Tottenham Hotspur
As a player, Nuno won the Champions League as part of Jose Mourinho’s Porto side; now, he takes Mourinho’s spot as Tottenham boss.
Nuno’s coaching career started with Malaga, working under Jesualdo Ferreira as a goalkeeping coach before following Ferreira to Panathinaikos.
In 2012, Rio Ave took a punt on Nuno as their new boss, and after just two years in the job, he landed his big move to Valencia.
This did start something of a nomadic period; he spent just over a year in charge of Valencia, then a year in charge of Porto.
Nuno landed his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017, guiding them to promotion in his first season in charge, then immediately secured Europa League football.
Things took a turn this past season, with Wolves in a transitional period and losing key players to transfers and injury, ultimately leading to Nuno’s somewhat dampened exit.

Tottenham legend Roberts has his say
Many Tottenham fans have been reacting to the news, and club legend Graham Roberts has now taken to Twitter to share his thoughts.
Roberts claims he has been told that Nuno is a ‘wonderful’ man manager, and hopes to see him do well at Tottenham.
Roberts also told Nuno that no player is bigger than the club, and urged him to recreate the spirit Tottenham had under Mauricio Pochettino.
