Tottenham Hotspur beat CSKA Moscow 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Former Tottenham heroes Graham Roberts and Ray Clemence have taken to Twitter to react to the club’s 3-1 win over CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening.

Spurs were playing their final Champions League group stage game on Wednesday, as they took on CSKA Moscow having already been knocked out of the competition.

A disappointing campaign, which saw Spurs dumped out of the competition after a 2-1 defeat at Monaco last month, came to an end as Spurs looked to finally pick up a win at Wembley Stadium following defeats to Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen.

Having beaten Swansea City 5-0 on Saturday afternoon, spirits were high among Spurs fans making the short trip to Wembley, but when Alan Dzagoev opened the scoring for the visitors, it looked like Tottenham’s miserable Champions League campaign was about to end on another sour note.

However, Spurs did hit back as Dele Alli converted Christian Eriksen’s cross to make it 1-1, before Harry Kane tapped home from close range before half time to make it 2-1 to Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Late in the game, Spurs wrapped up all three points as Kane’s cross found Alli in the box, and whilst Igor Akinfeev saved his header, the ball cannoned off his foot and into the net.

The win guaranteed a passage into the Europa League for Spurs, and also kept the momentum going for Pochettino, as it’s eight goals scored in two games ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester United.

After the game, Spurs legend Graham Roberts took to Twitter to send a message to Kyle Walker, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, praising all three for their performances against CSKA.

Former goalkeeper Ray Clemence also reacted to the victory, tweeting that Spurs took control of the game after going a down and should have won by a greater scoreline in the end.
