Graham Roberts says that Tottenham have learnt from their previous transfer mistakes.
Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts has defended the club’s transfer policy this summer on social networking site Twitter.
Spurs remain the only club to have not signed a player, but Roberts believes it is about quality addition that matters most than quantity.
He says that the club is working on a long-term project, and Daniel Levy should spend money on the players that they feel right about.
Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko waits to come on as a substitute
Roberts emphasizes the need to sign one or two players this summer, but he is trusting Mauricio Pochettino to sign the right profile of players.
Last season, Tottenham signed Moussa Sissoko on the transfer deadline day for a fee around £30 million – a signing that didn’t work out well.
When a fan reminded him of Sissoko’s move last summer, Roberts responded by saying it was a decision that both Pochettino and the club regret.
In another tweet about Sissoko, he said that the club have learnt their mistakes and that is why they are not rushing through transfers just to get bodies in.
