Graham Roberts has stated on Twitter that he does not want Tottenham Hotspur to sign Crystal Palace-owned striker Alexander Sorloth, and has suggested Juventus star Paulo Dybala instead.
The former Tottenham defender does not want the North London club to bring the 24-year-old Norway international striker to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Instead, Roberts wants Argentina international Dybala in Jose Mourinho’s side for this season and beyound.
Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has told Fanatik that Sorloth wants to leave, and that talks with Tottenham are imminent, as covered by HITC Sport here.
The 24-year-old striker joined the Turkish club on a two-year loan deal from Palace in the summer of 2019.
This means that Trabzonspor will have to come to an arrangement with Palace, perhaps sign him on a permanent deal and then sell him to Tottenham for a higher price – it is going to be complicated.
Sorloth struggled at Palace, but he has been superb in Turkey, as he scored 24 goals and provided eight assists in 34 league games last season, according to WhoScored.
Dybala, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, would be a superb signing for Tottenham, but it is hard to see the Juventus star join Spurs with no Champions League football and no chance of a Premier League title challenge.
