Alli featured for Tottenham in the Premier League game against Stoke City away from home at the Bet365 Stadium.
The 20-year-old midfielder started the match for Spurs and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The North London outfit returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a comfortable 4-0 victory.
Son Heung-min scored twice for Tottenham, while Harry Kane and Alli added a goal apiece.
Former Tottenham defender Roberts was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of Alli.
Roberts has stated on Twitter that the performance of the England international midfielder against Stoke was his best of the season so far.
Alli played well against Stoke, taking five shots and creating three chances over the course of the 90 minutes.
The youngster did not have a great summer, as he was part of the England squad that was bitterly disappointing at the 2016 European Championship in France.
