Graham Roberts has shut down claims that Harry Kane will now want to leave Tottenham Hotspur because Ange Postecoglou is the club’s new manager.
When Antonio Conte was sacked, Spurs fans were talking about a possible return of Mauricio Pochettino, who is now Chelsea’s manager, or bringing in the highly-rated, Julian Nagelsmann.
But instead, they pushed for Celtic’s treble-winning coach Ange Postecoglou and when a Spurs fan suggested on Twitter that ‘Harry Kane will defo want out now’, Graham Roberts’ simple response was ‘do you know him?’. He also added in a different thread that ‘Players who don’t want to buy in can leave’.
Harry Kane is going to be right at the top of Postecoglou’s list of priorities when he starts getting his hands dirty at his new job.
Of course, he would prefer to keep the 30-goal Premier League striker, but if he leaves, then Spurs are better off getting a deal done as soon as possible.
That way, it will make life easier for their new manager, rather than having the Kane saga floating over the club at every moment.
CLEAR OUT NEEDED AT TOTTENHAM?
That’s what near-on every Spurs supporter will be shouting and calling for with the new manager now in the building, but it’s going to be easier said than done.
The absolute best thing Postecoglou can do is improve and lift up the current players at the club, whose form is on the floor and confidence out of the window.
Even if a few of them can be recovered, then it will save Daniel Levy, who doesn’t exactly splash the cash like crazy, to save a few million in the transfer market.
