Spurs booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a win over West Ham.
Graham Roberts has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez after the Colombian starred in Spurs’ 3-1 Carabao Cup win over West Ham United – his second game in less than 48 hours.
Sanchez, 22, played the entire 90 minutes of Spurs’ narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday night in a fast-paced, breathtaking encounter that is sure to have tired many of the north London club’s stars.
However, he was picked to play against bitter rivals West Ham United on Wednesday night – just two days after the defeat to City and impressed as Mauricio Pochettino’s men booked their place in the last eight of the competition.
Partnering Argentine Juan Foyth at centre-back, Sanchez remained on the field for another 90 minutes and former Spurs skipper Roberts was delighted with the work ethic of the former Ajax defender.
Sanchez has been made to wait at times this season, with Pochettino rotating his defence on multiple occasions as Toby Alderweireld continues to re-emerge after a difficult 2017-18 campaign.
Tottenham travel to the Midlands on Saturday evening to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, and it remains to be seen if Sanchez will be given the nod for a third match in the space of six days.
