Tottenham Hotspur were heavily beaten at home by Bayern Munich.

A competitive first 45 minutes spiralled out of control in the second half, with Bayern emerging as 7-2 winners.

The nature of the defeat is incredibly tough for Tottenham, their players, manager and fans to take.

Former Tottenham captain Graham Roberts waited until the next morning to react to the loss.

He praised the supporters and called for the fans to get behind the team and help them respond.

Tottenham’s next match is in the Premier League away at Brighton and Hove Albion.

After that there is an international break, and Spurs really need to go into that on the back of a Premier League win, to lift the spirits.

Beating Brighton won’t make up for this heavy loss, but they can stem the bleeding by avoiding another defeat.
