Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has accused Ajax of time wasting during last night’s 1-0 defeat in North London.

Donny van de Beek scored the only goal of the game on 15 minutes as the Dutch giants took a big step toward the final of the Champions League by beating Spurs.

Tottenham were comfortably second best during the first half, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side improved significantly after the break and goalkeeper Andre Onana appeared to be purposely delaying goal kicks in order to kill time – something that Roberts believes UEFA should look into.

Onana did certainly seem to intentionally waste time, but Ajax, who also hit the post during the second half, were deserving winners and now the pressure is on Tottenham to turn the tie around in Amsterdam next Wednesday.

Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, he will have Son Heung-min and a fully-fit Moussa Sissoko at his disposal.

The French midfielder, who replaced the concussed Jan Vertonghen in the first half, changed the game for the North Londoners after coming on in the first half and Ajax will be worried by him next week.
