Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been issued a two-match touchline ban.

Pochettino angrily confronted referee Mike Dean immediately after a controversial 2-1 defeat by Burnley last month.

And the Football Association have slapped him with a two-game touchline ban, as well as a £10,000 fine.

The Spurs manager will not be in the dugout for Tottenham’s trip to his former club Southampton this weekend, or the visit to Liverpool on March 31.

Here is how former Tottenham stat Graham Roberts reacted to the decision:

Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez were furious at Dean, who had earlier awarded Burnley a corner which directly led to Chris Wood opening the scoring.

Television replays indicated that it could have been a goal kick for the Lilywhites.

The ban takes some of the feel-good factor away from Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Borussia Dortmund, which confirmed Tottenham’s passage into the quarter-final of the Champions League for the first time in eight years.
