Graham Roberts has reacted to a certain rumour about Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian stalwart’s long-term future at Tottenham has been a subject of much debate in recent months and leaving North London could be on the cards this summer – well, the white half of North London anyway.

According to Football London, the 29-year-old, whose Spurs contract expires next summer, is interesting the Lilywhites’ local rivals Arsenal this summer.

Sol Campbell 2.0?

Sol Campbell remains a detested figure by Tottenham fans for joining Arsenal on a free transfer way back in 2001 and suffice to say that Alderweireld would swiftly become equally as hated if he were to follow suit.

At the moment it seems unlikely that the former Atletico Madrid and Southampton star would join Arsenal – who don’t even know who their next manager is yet as Arsene Wenger prepares for his last game in charge – but the Gunners’ hierarchy can offer him significantly better personal terms than Tottenham, so time will tell.
