The Englishman recently left Tottenham Hotspur for Atletico Madrid.

Kieran Trippier suggested that he left Tottenham for Atletico Madrid because of things that happened behind the scenes, and Graham Roberts reacted strongly to the right-back’s comments on Twitter.
The 28-year-old left Spurs for Atleti for £20 million earlier this month, on the back of a really poor season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Trippier’s form was so bad in fact, that he was dropped from the England national team squad.
And the former Burnley man told Sky Sports how it was time for him to move on from Tottenham because of things that were happening behind the scenes:
“I think it was time for me to change and move on. I don’t necessarily mean that I needed to move on, but things happened behind the scenes at Tottenham, which I don’t really want to go into, but I needed to move on from that.”

Quite what he means by those comments is unclear, but Spurs legend Graham Roberts let his feelings be known on the matter today:
Trippier will be hoping to reinvigorate his career in Spain.
On his day, he is one of the best right-backs around, but he quite simply just wasn’t at it for Tottenham last season.
And only time will tell whether £20 million for him was a better deal for Spurs or Atletico.
