tottenham Son Heung-min

Graham Roberts has tweeted his delight over Tottenham Hotspur extending Son Heung-min’s contract.

After quite a protracted negotiation, Spurs finally confirmed that they’ve tied the South Korea international down to a deal until 2025.

Son was a massive player for Tottenham last season, netting 22 goals in all competitions.

And with Harry Kane potentially leaving North London, the club’s fans can rest easy in the knowledge that their second-best player is going nowhere.

More importantly, Son has also committed the best years of his career to the Lilywhites, by virtue of the fact that he turned 29 a little earlier this month.

And club legend Roberts believes that the player may well finish his playing career in N17. Here’s how he reacted on Twitter:

Mauricio Pochettino brought Son to the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, for a bargain £22 million fee.

As it turns out, Tottenham won’t be selling him anytime soon but if he was on the market, Daniel Levy would stand to make a massive profit for the Lilywhites.

That’s because since arriving six years ago, Son has netted 70 goals in 197 Premier League games which, for someone who isn’t a number nine, is a remarkable return.

He has been adored by the North London faithful for virtually his entire career in England so far and this news will only add to his popularity.
