Tottenham Hotspur hero Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to react to the 2-0 win over Watford on Monday night, and hailed three players.

Spurs went into the game having lost 2-1 to Manchester United in their FA Cup semi-final clash last weekend, meaning they will end another season without a trophy.

On Monday, it was back to the task of securing a top four place, with Watford visiting Wembley Stadium in an attempt to spring a shock on Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

However, Dele Alli handed Spurs the lead in the first half, before Harry Kane sealed a 2-0 win shortly after the interval to take Tottenham one step closer to sealing Champions League football again.

It wasn’t exactly vintage football from Spurs, but they got the job done and kept a clean sheet too, with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris putting in a fine performance after recent criticism of him.

After the final whistle, Spurs legend Graham Roberts took to Twitter to offer his view on the win, admitting that Tottenham were some way from the levels Pochettino expects of them in what was a game more about the result than the performance.

Roberts added that he felt right back Kieran Trippier was Tottenham’s man of the match, whilst he also offered praise to goalkeeper Lloris and goalscorer Alli for their fine performances in the victory.
