Tottenham Hotspur secured two signings on Tuesday.

The old adage is that you wait for a bus, and then two come along at once – and Tottenham Hotspur lived up to that on Tuesday.
Spurs pounced to land promising winger Jack Clarke from Leeds United, snapping up the 18-year-old before loaning him straight back to the Championship side.
Tottenham’s 517 day wait for a new signing was over, but fans will have been forgiven for feeling a little underwhelmed given that they won’t even see him playing for Spurs until next season.
However, Tottenham delivered the big announcement on Tuesday evening, as they confirmed that Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele has joined in a club-record deal.
The 22-year-old midfielder is a huge capture for Spurs, beating a number of major European sides to land him as the natural successor to Mousa Dembele in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
A lengthy pursuit has paid off for Spurs, and the French international will now look to continue his rapid progression in the Premier League, having only been plucked from Amiens in 2017.

Ex-Spurs captain Graham Roberts felt that the Clarke deal was ‘strange’, as covered on Tuesday, but he has been a little more positive about Ndombele’s arrival.
Roberts took to Twitter before the deal was announced to brand Ndombele as the best midfielder of his age in Europe, later adding that he was ‘absolutely delighted’ once the move was confirmed, believing he has improved a key area for Pochettino and co.
