Tottenham Hotspur announce the signing of Davinson Sanchez.
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Davinson Sanchez.
The Colombia defender joins Spurs from Ajax for a fee in the region of £40 million, according to The Mirror’s transfer zone (entry posted at 17:16 on August 18).

In doing so, the 21-year-old becomes Tottenham’s first signing of what had been a frustrating summer transfer window for fans of the Lilywhites.
And club legend Graham Roberts seemed relieved as he posted his two cents on Twitter shortly after the announcement.
Sanchez’s arrival might well greenlight Kevin Wimmer’s move to West Bromwich Albion as The Telegraph report that the Austrian defender is in talks with the West Midlands side.
By signing the youngster, Tottenham arguably have the best back-three in the Premier League, with Sanchez set to slot in alongside Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
He had refused to train with Ajax in recent days, having also made himself unavailable for their Eredivisie clash last week, so it remains to be seen whether he is fit for Tottenham’s visit of Chelsea at Wembley this weekend.
