The Tottenham striker is in the running for the Golden Boot.
Graham Roberts believes ‘top-class’ Harry Kane can win the Golden Boot for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
Indeed, the Tottenham striker has netted 15 Premier League goals so far this term and is in the running to finish as the top flight’s top scorer for the current campaign.
And Roberts, naturally, is a big fan of the 22-year-old.
Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino recently compared Kane to the very best and suggested there are no strikers in the Premier League he can’t match. But can he win the Golden Boot?
| 2015-16 | Team | Goals | Appearances |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jamie Vardy | Leicester | 18 | 24 |
| Harry Kane | Tottenham | 15 | 24 |
| Romelu Lukaku | Everton | 15 | 24 |
| Odion Ighalo | Watford | 14 | 24 |
| Sergio Agüero | Man City | 13 | 17 |
| Riyad Mahrez | Leicester | 13 | 23 |
| Olivier Giroud | Arsenal | 12 | 24 |
As Opta stats show, Kane is in a strong position to take the award home this time around.
But several competitors are making life tough. Jamie Vardy is in pole position and it’s not just the volume of goals he produces but the quality.
Romelu Lukaku and Odion Ighalo are also worthy competitors, while Sergio Aguero’s 13-goal haul is remarkable considering the amount of time he has spent injured.
It’s all to play for, though, and Kane could yet bring the boot home to Tottenham.
