Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts hailed Son Heung-min as the club’s ‘best-value signing’ after his winning goal in last night’s Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs came from behind to beat the Bundesliga giants 2-1 in Germany and secure top spot in Group H, with second-half strikes from Harry Kane and Son cancelling out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opener.

Son’s goal was his second in this season’s competition after also scoring in the reverse fixture against Dortmund, and he has also notched a decisive Premier League goal against Crystal Palace in recent weeks.

Roberts, who was part of the last Tottenham team to win a European trophy in 1984, was jubilant on Twitter following the victory and praised the South Korean for always doing the business when called upon.

According to Sky Sports, Son cost Spurs around £18m from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and has 33 goals in 104 appearances, 37 of which have been as a substitute, in all competitions for the Lilywhites.

Considering the transfer fees in the market today, Roberts is spot on that Son represents a bargain at that price, and Spurs will hope that they continue to reap the rewards deep into the Champions League campaign.
