Tottenham Hotspur coasted into the last 16 of the EFL Cup after a thumping 5-0 win over Gillingham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday evening, prompting praise from Graham Roberts.
Two goals from playmaker Christian Eriksen either side of half time put Spurs 3-0 up, before Vincent Janssen’s penalty, Joshua Onomah and Erik Lamela sealed the 5-0 victory.

After the game, Tottenham legend Graham Roberts took to Twitter to give his view on the game, and praised the performances of a number of players.

Roberts noted there were some ‘fantastic’ performances from a number of players, picking out first-team stars Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Vincent Janssen.
However, the night also belonged to some of the club’s top young players, with both Harry Winks and the aforementioned Onomah starting the game – and receiving praise from Roberts as he hailed all five starters.

Additionally, Roberts hailed teenage playmaker Marcus Edwards after the wonderkid made a cameo as a second-half substitute.
Roberts admitted that Edwards ‘looks class’ thanks to his great balance, and suggested that the 17-year-old looks like a real Tottenham player based on his short time on the pitch.
