Tottenham Hotspur have had a difficult month. Is it about to improve?

Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts gave his view on the club’s situation yesterday, before being drawn into a discussion on Twitter about the stadium.

Spurs had to push back the opening of their new ground this week due to safety concerns and no new open date has been set.

Spurs won their first game of the season away to Newcastle this weekend and take on Fulham at Wembley on Saturday.

Roberts believes on the pitch Tottenham can continue to flourish.

Roberts was then quizzed whether his message was a dig at Tottenham’s management, which he denied, but also asking how anyone could possibly be happy with how the past few weeks had gone.

On top of the stadium setback, Tottenham had a bizarre transfer window where they did not sign or sell a single first team player.

Roberts added that he felt chairman Daniel Levy would be the most upset person at the club, as the problems meant the club are losing money, as well as looking a little shambolic from the outside.

If Spurs can go on a winning run then their off field troubles will fade.

A big challenge will be in a fortnight time, when the team travel to Manchester United, with a match against Liverpool in mid-September.

Win those, irrespective of where they are taking place, and the transfer window will feel like an irrelevance.
