Graham Roberts has said on Twitter that he is willing to become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager.
The former Tottenham defender has said that he will take the role for the love of the club.
The 61-year-old has added that he will not ask for any salary from Spurs and will do it for free.
Roberts made the tweet last night during intense speculation that Gennaro Gattuso was going to be the new manager.
The Guardian claimed that Spurs were in talks with the former Rangers midfielder.
There was also another report claiming that Tottenham could offer the former Italy international a two-year contract.
However, things appear to have changed now.
The Athletic have reported that Tottenham have decided to abandon their pursuit of Gattuso following backlash from fans.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s search for a permanent successor to Jose Mourinho is now back to square now.
Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and Erik ten Hag were among some who had been linked with Spurs.
Roberts’s aforementioned tweet could be tongue-in-cheek, but the way things are going, Tottenham could well offer him the job.
The former England international defender has been in charge of Yeovil Town, Clyde, Pakistan and Nepal in the past.
The Premier League fixtures list is out for next season, but Spurs are still searching for their new manager.
