Graham Roberts has praised Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Winks and Eric Dier on Twitter for their performance against Manchester United on Friday evening.
The former Tottenham star believes that midfielder Winks and central defender Dier were the two best players for Jose Mourinho’s side against United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Football.London’s Tottenham correspondent, Alasdair Gold, rated the performance of the 24-year-old 5 out of 10 in his Player Ratings for the game.
Roberts does not agree with Gold’s opinion, and believes that England international Winks should have been marked higher.
Meanwhile, former United star Patrice Evra has criticised Dier and Winks for the role they play in the Red Devils winning the penalty, which was successfully converted by Paul Pogba.
Football.London quotes Evra as saying: “He (Pogba) destroyed Dier, I think Dier saw maybe an invisible fan in the stand.
“I’m complaining as well about Winks. He just looks at Dier being destroyed, like he’s waiting for a cup of tea or something. He needs to close Paul, he’s gazing at it.
“That’s the problem with modern footballers, they always guess, he should already be there.”
