Could Liverpool be after Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen in the summer of 2018?
Graham Roberts has claimed on social networking site Twitter that Christian Eriksen will not leave Tottenham Hotspur for Liverpool in the summer of 2018.
The Liverpool Echo recently suggested that Tottenham attacking midfielder Eriksen would be a good replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left Liverpool for Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Eriksen was among a number of names suggested in the opinion piece, including Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund and West Ham United’s Manuel Lanzini.
The Express has since claimed that a move could happen should Liverpool secure Champions League football next season and Tottenham do not.
Won’t happen
Former Tottenham defender Roberts, though, has strongly claimed on Twitter that Eriksen will not leave for Liverpool, and has predicted that the 25-year-old Denmark international will sign a long-term deal.
The attacking midfielder has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2013 when he signed from Ajax for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11.5 million.
Eriksen has established himself as a key figure for Spurs, and it is hard to see the North London outfit selling such a superb footballer to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
