The one-time Tottenham Hotspur player has hit back at the Liverpool great’s selection.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to have his say on Jamie Carragher’s team of the season so far.

The ex-Liverpool defender did not select a single Tottenham player in the XI, with Ryan Bertrand and Cesar Azpilicueta occupying the full-back positions, and that is one area of the field Roberts clearly feels has been dominated by Spurs men.

Tottenham's Kyle Walker looks dejected

“Listening to Jamie Carragher (on) Monday Night Football picking his best team and how can Kyle Walker (and) Danny Rose not be in?” Roberts wrote. “Best full-backs by a mile.”

Both players have overcome their critics to blossom into outstanding full-backs, featuring regularly for Tottenham and keeping their rivals Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies rooted firmly to the substitutes’ bench.

Walker has played 20 times for Tottenham already this season, featuring in every single league match to date, while Rose has racked up 15 appearances after a hamstring injury struck earlier in the campaign.

There is no doubt the Tottenham pair are among the best in their position in the country, but Carragher for one clearly feels others are more deserving in his selection.
