Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League hopes are over for another year after losing 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday night.
A 2-1 first-leg defeat left PSG with work to do at the Etihad Stadium, and they came up short for the second time in a week.
Pep Guardiola’s men took a first half lead through Riyad Mahrez, and the Algerian sealed the victory with City’s second after the break.
Angel Di Maria’s red card compounded a dismal night for PSG, who began to lose their heads towards the end of the game.
Presnel Kimpembe produced a rash challenge on Gabriel Jesus that picked up a yellow card, and for the second time in a week, PSG’s petulance came to the fore.
Some popped jokes at Mauricio Pochettino, highlighting that his Tottenham side also lost their heads when losing at Chelsea back in 2016, with comparisons being made.
Graham Roberts didn’t go down that route though, instead suggesting that PSG have no discipline in their squad, urging Pochettino to ‘get out of there’.

Roberts boldly asked Pochettino to come home to Tottenham, given that Spurs are currently in the market for a new manager having parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April.
That seems unlikely given that Daniel Levy sacked Pochettino back in November 2019, and a return to Spurs seems too soon right now.
One day though? Who knows. Pochettino needs silverware with PSG, and with the Champions League now gone, the focus turns to the Ligue 1 title race.
