West Ham United’s Sofiane Feghouli was among the well-wishers acknowledging the 21-year-old’s Tottenham Hotspur exit.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has left the North London club to join Schalke on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old joins the Bundesliga outfit until next May but the German side would have the option to sign him for around £17 million if they wanted to.
The Algeria international was a prominent member of Tottenham’s squad during Mauricio Pochettino’s first season in squad during the 2014-15 campaign.
But his influence waned last term in a season which saw him make just five Premier League appearances, due to injury and the emergence of Eric Dier in that defensive midfield role.
The arrival of Victor Wanyama looks to have pushed him closer to the exit door in North London, and some fans might be sad to see him leave given the promise he once showed with the Lilywhites.
One man who seems to have a bit of time for him is Spurs legend Graham Roberts, who joined Bentaleb’s Algeria team-mate, West Ham United’s Sofiane Feghouli, in wishing the young man all the very best in Gelsenkirchen.
