Leeds United were very close to bringing in Daniel James from Swansea City in the January transfer window.

Swansea took on Derby County last night and drew 1-1, with James starting in the contest.
And when asked whether that was the last time that James would pull on the Swansea shirt, amid interest from Leeds, Potter said: “Who knows.”
Potter’s failure to provide a definitive answer over James’ future suggests that Leeds could still have a chance of landing the wide-man.
The Whites were so close to signing James in the January transfer window, but a deal fell through at the last minute, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

James has gone on to impress highly at Swansea since then, while Leeds’ form has taken a dip.
Whether Leeds will go back in for James in the summer remains to be seen.
Leeds’ chances of landing James may well be boosted if they win the play offs and earn promotion to the Premier League.
