Brighton and Hove Albion allowed one player to join Arsenal on Friday, as goalkeeper Mat Ryan signed for the Gunners on loan.

It remains to be seen whether the Australian can earn a permanent move to the Emirates Stadium, but he may not even be the only Seagulls ace Arsenal want.

Midfielder Yves Bissouma is another Arsenal target, having impressed in Brighton’s midfield so far this season.

The Malian ace scored a stunner on Saturday, firing a long-range strike into the net in a 2-1 FA Cup win over League One side Blackpool.

This was another example of Bissouma’s quality, as whilst he is mostly known for carrying the ball through midfield, he also has that game-changing attacking ability in his locker.

Signed from Lille in 2018, Bissouma is now really starting to develop for the Seagulls, and Football.London claim that Arsenal want to sign him.

Bissouma is keen on a move to Arsenal to reunite with ex-Lille teammates Gabriel Magalhaes and Nicolas Pepe, and boss Graham Potter has now commented on the midfield maestro to BT Sport.

Potter believes Bissouma has Champions League quality but needs to show it consistently, adding that Brighton are ‘quite relaxed’ about his future and the speculation over him.

“He’s got that quality (to play in the Champions League), he’s got those attributes that you need at that level,” said Potter. “It’s about him being consistent enough to do that. I think he’s made steps with that but there’s still more to do and more to come.”

“It’s just nice that our players have taken a step forward, it’s nice for Yves that he’s taken a step forward. You never know anything in football these days. But from his perspective, I think he’s happy here, he wants to help the team, so we are quite relaxed about everything,” he added.
