Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter has told The Argus that there have been no approaches for midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Bissouma has been impressing for the Seagulls this season, and he seems to be attracting interest ahead of the January transfer window.

TalkSPORT reported earlier this month that both Liverpool and Arsenal want to sign Bissouma, meaning Brighton may face a battle to keep hold of him.

Mikel Arteta is allegedly a huge fan of Bissouma, whilst Liverpool are eyeing him as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum when his contract ends in the summer.

The 24-year-old is a talented ball-carrier through the middle of the park, with is understandably appealing to some of the Premier League’s top clubs.

Brighton won’t be easy to deal with though; they stood firm over Ben White’s future over the summer, and will likely put up a fight for Bissouma.

Boss Potter has now stated that there are no approaches on the table for Bissouma, with Arsenal and Liverpool yet to make any sort of move.

Potter stated that his focus is purely on helping Bissouma realise his potential, believing that the former Lille man still has some work to do on his game.

“There have been no approaches,” said Potter. “As I’ve said before, just because it’s in the media, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true.”

“My focus is on Yves and how I can help him improve and I think he’s still got some improvement to make. That’s my focus with him, to try and help him reach his full potential. He’s got some work to do yet, so that’s what we are focusing on,” he added.
