Graham Dorrans has backed to be a huge success at Rangers but fans at Ibrox are yet to see it.
Of all of Rangers’ many signings last summer, Graham Dorrans may be the biggest disappointment at Ibrox this season.
Dorrans signed for Rangers from Norwich City following a lengthy pursuit and there were very high hopes for him.
He is yet to really show what he can do, managing it only in flashes.
Dorrans has scored six goals this season which is a respectable return for a midfielder but it is in the games against Rangers where he has gone missing, and got squashed by Scott Brown and Oliver Ntcham.
His performances have failed to match the hype last summer, and let down his pal and ex-Norwich teammate Robert Snodgrass.
After Dorrans clinched his move to Rangers, Snodgrass told The Daily Record he was confident the midfielder would tear it up in Scotland and be a game changer for the club.
He said: “He will be a great signing for Rangers.
“He’s a quiet boy. He will let his football do the talking. I don’t know much about the new signings but Graham is definitely the best signing Rangers have made in a long time.”
“He’ll take to it like a duck to water.”
Dorrans has not done so yet, although it must be noted that injuries early on in the season left him playing catch up.
He will get a fresh start next season under a new manager and there is still time for him to make good on Snodgrass’ prediction, but he will have to really raise his game in Old Firm games to show what he is capable of.
