Graham Dorrans has claimed that he has ‘never seen’ Alfredo Morelos showcase some of the finishing ability he is currently producing for Rangers.

The former Gers player stated that Morelos hasn’t just improved his disciplinary record, but he has also improved his all-round game from when he first trained with him at Ibrox.

Dorrans left Rangers in the summer, but he would have seen first hand, the good and the bad from Morelos, who is looking like a much calmer character this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports Football (10/11/19 at 2:45 pm), Dorrans gave an insight into what Morelos is like as he stated that he is now seeing more to his game in the final third.

“It’s not just his discipline record that has improved,” Dorrans told Sky Sports.“For me, when I first went to Rangers, he has massively improved his all-round game. The decisions he is making are the right decisions now.

“Some of the finishing he is doing, I have never seen him do that when I first came. Massively improving for me. He’s still young. I thought he was raw [early on], he is improving and some of the goals you see him scoring now, he’s working on it every day. You can see him getting better every time.

“Definitely [there’s an improvement because of Defoe]. He has done it his whole career at the highest level.”

Morelos’ disciplinary problems were well-documented last season and it was something, in the end, his manager had to act upon.

A lot of eyes would have been on the Columbian this season, as there’s no doubt that there will be opposition players trying to wind him up to try and get him sent off.

But he has shown a more mature character during this campaign, and as the Rangers fans would have wanted, he is letting his goals do the talking.
