Glasgow Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans has suggested that the Ibrox side could potentially do with having Kenny Miller back in the fold.

Graham Dorrans has praised Rangers teammate Kenny Miller’s professionalism, and suggested that the Gers potentially do miss the veteran forward after their semi-final defeat, the Daily Record reports.

Miller has not played since the Old Firm defeat back in September, but has featured for the under-20s more recently. And while it is unclear what exactly is going on between the 37-year-old and Pedro Caixinha, there certainly appears to be plenty of tension between the two with Miller playing no part in the squad that were beaten by Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is seen during the Betfred League Cup Semi Final between Rangers and Motherwell at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

And while Dorrans refused to be drawn on the apparent issues between Caixinha and Miller, he did admit that the Light Blues’ failure on the big stage hints that they are potentially missing having the striker in the team.

“Maybe we do miss them [Miller and injured captain Lee Wallace] a little bit. Kenny is a true professional,” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“He’s training every day and is doing what he’s always done since I’ve known him and since I’ve been here.

“It’s not for me to go into the details of what’s happened. That’s for the manager to deal with whatever situation there is.

“What I will say is Kenny has come in every day and has trained like a true professional. He’s done the job he’s always done.”

With the likes of Michael O’Halloran and Harry Forrester leaving Ibrox after seemingly falling out of favour with Caixinha, it seems difficult to imagine that Miller can salvage his Rangers career – though it is also difficult to predict what the future holds for the forward without knowing the full facts regarding whatever has gone on.

Miller’s own form may have been questionable this season, but you can see why Gers fans would be forgiven for thinking that having him in the squad against Well at the weekend may have been beneficial.

The forward is no stranger to the big games at Hampden Park, and has previously shown that he can find another gear at times. And unfortunately for Rangers, that next gear was something that none of their players who did play at the weekend could find.
