Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Graeme Souness has been discussing Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
Smith Rowe has been making waves in the Premier League this season. Last year he burst onto the scene, but this time around he’s staking a claim to be one of the best players in the division.
Even the ever-cynical Souness couldn’t help but marvel at his talent, claiming that if the youngster stays clear of injuries and has the right attitude he’ll go on to become a star.
What’s been said?
Souness had nothing but good things to say about Smith Rowe.
“I really like Smith Rowe, what I like about him is that when you see him play, he seems to be extremely energetic and everything is done with pace and aggression, when he runs and when he carries the ball everything is done as if he’s playing with passion and the boy has real qualities. I say this all the time about young men, get lucky, avoid injuries and turn up every day wanting to learn something new. If he does those three things then he’s destined to be a star,” Souness said.

Future star
If Graeme Souness is saying that you’re a future star then you must have something pretty special about you.
The pundit is very knowledgeable, but it has to be said that he’s very selective with his praise, so for Smith Rowe to receive these types of plaudits just goes to show how much he has impressed.
The 21-year-old has gone from strength to strength since breaking into Arteta’s team last year and if he keeps on developing he could be a genuine superstar in years to come.
