Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has been linked with a move to Everton in recent times.
Graeme Souness has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 31st October, that Wayne Rooney should move abroad, rather than to Everton.
Rooney’s future at Manchester United has come into doubt recently, with Jose Mourinho regularly leaving the England international on the substitutes’ bench.

Koeman has already confirmed that he would like to bring Rooney back to Everton, should the opportunity arise.
However, Souness feels that Rooney would be better served by moving abroad, rather than back to Goodison Park.
“I think he would stay in England reluctantly,” Souness said. “The only thing that would keep him in England would be his young family.

“For me, I would say go abroad. It was the most wonderful experience when I did it. I would say enjoy your last two years.”
Rooney broke through at Everton as a youngster, and the Toffees are currently the bookies’ favourites to land the 30-year-old in the January transfer window.
Rooney has been forced out of United’s first-team line-up, with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata all seemingly ahed of him in the pecking order.
If Rooney was to move to Everton he would be competing with Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku for a place in Koeman’s team.
