Ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League game against Liverpool, Graeme Souness has showered praise on Harry Kane.

Liverpool are heading into the match brimming with confidence after beating Maribor 7-0 in the midweek in the Champions League away clash.

However, facing a top quality side like Tottenham brings a different level of challenge altogether.

The former Liverpool midfielder and club legend says that the Reds’ biggest problem will not be about scoring goals, but to prevent Harry Kane from scoring.

The England striker has been in great form this season, and he has taken his game to a whole new level. He has been rightly earning praises from all corners, and Souness has chimed in with them as well.

Souness says that Kane is not only a fabulous goal scorer, he also has a “great football brain”. The popular football pundit wrote for The Times that Kane has the potential to be a world class player.

Spurs are currently third in the Premier League with 17 points, while Liverpool are eighth under Klopp with 13 points from eight games.

“All great players are puzzle solvers. They came up with answers to the obstacles in front of them, whether you’re trying to push them into certain areas, man-marking them or whatever,” wrote Souness for The Times.

“That’s what Kane has been doing for the past two years. He’s a fabulous goalscorer with a great football brain and has the potential to be world-class.

“My only slight reservation about him is that he could perhaps be bullied out of a game, as he was to an extent at the Bernabeu, whereas Kane would not be intimidated by any occasion or any player. He’s the nearest thing we have seen to Alan Shearer and gives Tottenham a presence that Liverpool lack.”
