Would Glenn Hoddle have been a good managerial appointment for West Ham United?
Brady has been the vice-chairman of West Ham since 2010, having previously worked at Birmingham City as the Managing Director.
Liverpool legend Souness has revealed that former Tottenham Hotspur star Hoddle did not apply for the managerial job at the Hammers when it came up due to the presence of Brady.
“I found managing the players difficult and working for the board doubly so,” Souness wrote in The Times.
“I remember saying to Glenn Hoddle when someone was sacked at West Ham: ‘That would be a good job for you’, and he said he didn’t fancy working with Karren Brady there.
“I said: ‘Glenn, there’s a Karren Brady at every football club now, and they think they know more than you and me put together’.”
Hoddle recently worked as a first-team coach at Queens Park Rangers, but the Tottenham legend has not worked as a manager since 2006 when he was in charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The former England midfielder would be a good managerial appointment for any club, but West Ham are doing quite well without him at the moment.
Although things are not going as well as expected at the London Stadium, Slaven Bilic is a very good manager who should be able to achieve success with the Hammers this season.
